My Marie Half Doll

I hosted a swap with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group in November, we all purchased our own Marie half dolls and the swap was to send a person beautiful materials and supplies to make your half doll. Debi hosted a wonderful shadow box swap with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group and I was her partner. This is the beautiful shadow box she sent me, it is cream, taupe and soft aqua. I love it and it is so beautiful in my room with my aqua Christmas tree. Then there is a photo of the one I sent her. Thank you so much Debi, I really enjoyed this wonderful swap. Debi and I also decided to have a tea cup swap, she sent me two of the most beautiful tea cups. They are both Royal Albert, which are my favorite tea cups. The pink one is so beautiful, the cup is white and pink inside and the saucer is pink, it has the most beautiful roses on it and the shape of the cup is so pretty, I have never seen this pattern, it is my new most favorite tea cup. The other cup is just the sweetest, it has forget me not flowers and beautiful gold. She made bags for each of the tea cups. She also sent me some beautiful ornaments and lace doilies, which I love. Thank you so much Debi, it is always so much fun to swap with you. Then there is the tea cup that I sent her and the ornament that I made for her. I love everything! I am hosting a swap with the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, we are going to be making a Marie Half Doll. This swap was for supplies to make your own doll. You buy your head and then send a person beautiful supplies to make your doll. We had an odd number of people so we were unable to have partners. I received my supplies from Wanda and I sent my supplies to Debi. The first pictures are of the beautiful pouch that I received from Wanda and all the beautiful things she sent me. Oh I was so excited when I opened her box, her bag is so lovely and I can't wait to make my doll. She has an Etsy Shop: RosesinWinter , her work is beautiful! I have always loved vintage ribbon flowers, but her flowers are more beautiful! All of her items begin with her own hand dyed ribbon and using traditional French ribbonwork techniques. I just want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you will celebrate it with the ones you love. It will be a little lonely here as both my son's will not be home, but they will both be here for Christmas, so I am so thankful for that. I wanted to share with you the pumpkins that I made, I have been seeing these beautiful velvet pumpkins all over the internet and thought I have to have some, then I seen the price and thought I can make some. I bought lots of gourds with strange stems and cut them off. I bought some velvet and also a friend Holly from the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group sent me some beautiful velvet, so I made some. I want to wish you a very Happy Halloween and share some Halloween things. We love Halloween at the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. Every year we have a Halloween Gala and have lots of fun Halloween Swaps. This year I hosted a Marie Witches Hat Contest, I could not let the ladies have all the fun, so I made a witches hat too! I did not have a pattern so I just started cutting material, I used wire around the rim of the hat and also up the back so that I could bend it. Decorating was the fun part. We had a Halloween cone swap, a pumpkin decorating swap, Halloween charm swap. We had a wonderful time at the Gala and everyone donated prizes. I won this beautiful cream supplies gift from Debi, oh I just love it. I also thought I would share some things that I have up for Halloween, things that I have made this year, last year and several years ago, I always look forward to getting out my Halloween items.

I would like to introduce the art of my future daughter-in-law, Christine Fredendall. She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan's School of Art & Design. She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, where she met my son Matthew in a high school art class. Ever since we've known her, Chrissy has always given us gorgeous handmade cards for birthdays, holidays, and thank yous. While Christine (Chrissy, as we call her) mainly focuses on hand-carved print-making, she is also a skilled painter, illustrator, and writer. For her senior project, she focused on what her home meant to her during her childhood, combing both prints and poetry. Chrissy draws on her childhood, as well as her physical surroundings for inspiration, creating beautiful and captivating prints, cards, and various other types of hand-crafted art. Here are a couple of dolls that I made. I bought these wire dress forms with hoops from Stampington & Company when they first came out about 3 years ago, once I had them I didn't know what to do with them. Finally I decided to add an antique charlotte doll heads and then I wired arms to the sides. Dressing them was easy, you gather material and wrap it around the hoop. I like the way they came out. I Won a Beautiful Contest

About a month ago Joy at Cupids Charm was having a giveaway and also a contest, she was offering a $50.00 gift certificate for the giveaway and also a $50.00 gift certificate for the contest. She was going on vacation and had shown a photo of a mountain where she was going and you could win if you could tell her where she was going. We had just returned from vacation in Oregon and Washington, so I knew that the photo was not those states. My husband has family in Colorado and it looked like the mountains there but it was too green. So I made it a mission to find this mountain, you see I have a couple of pieces of Joy's beautiful jewelry and I love them. I always get so many compliments when I wear her jewelry. After looking for several hours, I enlisted the help of my husband, he always loves a challenge and I have to thank him, he was the one that found the mountain for me. I was just surprised that someone from Utah did not find it first. So I won. This is the beautiful necklace that I got with the gift certificate. Tea Cup Tuesday

Hello, Thank you for visiting my blog today for Tea Cup Tuesday. On our trip to Chicago a couple of weeks ago we stopped in the lovely town of Chesterton, IN. There are some wonderful antique shops and this is where I purchased this beautiful cup. In one booth I found this vintage zip up plastic china holder with 10 english tea cups it was priced at $30.00 marked down to $20.00. There was a another one with the saucers inside, priced at $20.00 marked down to $10.00. So I got 10 tea cups and saucers for $3.00 each. They are all english and they are in beautiful shape, no chips or cracks, I love them all except two, one is a mismatch, which I will use for crafting and the other is more modern cup and saucer. Most of the tea cups have roses on them so I was thrilled. What I have been up to!

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share with you a couple of things that I have been working on. A week ago Wednesday, my husband and I left for Chicago to celebrate my in laws 60th Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful family gathering and I made them this memory box. They loved it, we had such a great time. On Friday we left to attend a Wedding in Cincinnati, OH. The Wedding was for Chelsea Homan & Eric Mirkin, oh what a beautiful wedding. Eric has been one of our son's best friends since they were five. We met our Son and Daughter in Law, Stephen and Nicole there. Stephen was in the wedding. I made them a Wedding Box too! It was a wonderful week. I just love Weddings! Hello, I can't believe how long it has been since my last post. A few weeks ago we went Seattle to see our son and daughter in law and then we all went on to the Oregon coast. We had a wonderful time and this is where I found this beautiful cup, in Seaside, Oregon. I love the pink and purple colors and I really love the shape of the handle. It is made by the Royal Standard Company in England. I thought I would share a couple of Oregon photo's too. I had to learned the proper way to say Oregon, it is like saying Oregin. These photo's are of Haystack Rock. We stayed 2 days here, it was so beautiful. My daughter in law Nicole and I went on our first Helicopter ride, it was great. What I did with my White/Clear Charms

We had a wonderful charm swap in the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, hosted by the wonderful Rhonda 7, as I call her. She loves the number 7 and was born on the 7th of November. Seven is my lucky number so we are always fighting over it, in a fun way. This time the charm swap was white/clear beads with silver, a great color for summer. We make 25 charms and send them to Rhonda and she swaps them out and this is what I did with my charms. I always make more so that I can add some of my charms to my returns. Hello, thank you for visiting me today for Tea Cup Tuesday. The tea cup that I would like to share with you today is a tea cup that I purchased last week. I love tea cups with roses and I love these roses and I love the aqua color. I thought it had an interesting pattern too. It is a Royal Kent tea cup. I also found these cute little tooth pick holders. They looked so cute all together that I had to get them all. I am going to use them as vases. I love the faces and love the beautiful pink and gold on them. They are unmarked. I hope you have a wonderful week.
We had a terrible storm go through on Saturday night and just got power back Monday afternoon, luckily we have a generator, but it was used to keep the frig and freezer cold. It is so great to have our power back. It was a rough couple of days. Hugs, Terri

I joined the Bloggerette Sorority Match Box Swap and my partner is Liz of Rose Vignettes
It was such a pleasure to meet Liz and have her as my partner. She loves blue and white and touches of yellow. So I made her match box with blue french ledger paper and added lots of white lace. I also added a vintage rhinestone button for a handle and used vintage velvet millinery flowers for the top. I sent her tags with rhinestones buttons and ribbons. I have always loved dolls and I love, love, love those wonderful vintage charlotte dolls. I have been seeing them all over the internet and on Etsy. I thought I would try a few. My grandmother was an Avon Lady so I wanted to make some to honor her. I had so much fun making these. They are on vintage Avon powder cans. I put two on vintage tea cups and two on candy dishes. I made four of them, and when I was taking pictures of them, it started to rain and got dark, the light color ones did not come out too well, so I will share them another day. Domino Book Swap

Our Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group just had a Domino Book Swap hosted by the lovely Holly of Paper Pieces of Me , she has a beautiful blog and also has a tutorial on making Domino Books. My partner was the lovely Debi of Life in my Studio , the first Domino Book is the one that I made for Debi and the second Domino Book is the one she made for me, which I truly love. She also made this beautiful box for me and inside was the Domino book wrapped in a vintage hanky, she also gave me a beautiful pair of pearl beaded gloves and a beautiful glove clip. I always love receiving mail for Debi, she wraps everything so beautifully. The third Domino Book is a precious tiny little one that Holly made for me, she made one for everyone that was in the swap. It was such a wonderful surprise. Look at the picture of Debi's and Holly's so that you can see how small Holly's Domino book is. It is just the sweetest. Hi Everyone, well today is Tea Cup Tuesday and I have to tell you that I think Spring has finally arrived here in Michigan. We are about a month behind. My violets are blooming right now, so today I am sharing with you two new tea cups that I just found at the Treasure Mart in Ann Arbor. When ever I see violet tea cups I get them, I don't know what it is about violets but I love them. I went outside today and picked a little bunch of them, you can see them in the pictures. This first cup is a Royal Albert, I love the violets and they even have a texture to them. I tried to photograph this but it would not show. I love the shape of the cup and the flowers are so beautiful. The second tea cup is a Queen Anne and I love the shape of the tea cup too. Hello, thank you so much for visiting me today, this Tea Cup Tuesday, I would love to share a beautiful tea cup from a very special friend of mine. Her name is Debi, of life in my studio I have been a fan of her beautiful blog and was so thrilled when she joined the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group. She is just the sweetest person and I feel like she is my sister, we love the same things and it's almost like we can read each others minds. We decided to have a tea cup swap with each other. I always get so excited to get mail from Debi, it is always wrapped so beautifully and I know that I am going to love whatever she sends to me. This is the beautiful tea cup that Debi gave me, I love the beautiful soft blue and all the beautiful roses, it is so lovely. It is a Royal Stafford, made in England. Then she sent me this beautiful apron that she made, it is the prettiest apron that I have ever seen. I love the pink french material and all the lovely details, it is so special. She also sent me a silver spoon, these wonderful flamingo's, how did she know that I have been wanting some of these. She is really amazing. Thank you so much Debi, I love everything that you sent me and I will treasure your beautiful tea cup and apron and think of you whenever I use your beautiful tea cup.

Below is what I sent my sweet friend Debi. About a month ago, just out of the blue, she sent me a beautiful tea cup, I loved it so that I wanted her to have one just like the one she sent me, so I purchased a sister tea cup which is the first one I am showing, then I found the other tea cup and it just looked like her style. I made her a tea cup wall hanging and also a charlotte angel. I found out later that she collects angels and she found out that I collect aprons, like I said it's like we can read each others minds. I had such a fun time creating things for Debi. Thank you Debi for such a fun and wonderful swap. She is just the best. Melanie's Beautiful Egg I Received!

In our Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, the wonderful and lovely Melanie, who is so generous had a Easter egg drawing in the group. She made three beautiful eggs, a pink one, a blue one and a purple one. I was the lucky first winner, I picked the pink one, it was really hard to choose, they were all so beautiful. I was so thrilled to receive one of her beautiful eggs. Well it came on Monday and when I opened the box the egg seemed very heavy, when I opened the egg, she had made this beautiful bracelet. The egg was such a wonderful gift, but then to also have a beautiful bracelet, oh Melanie you really made my week. I love the sweet lamp work cup cake beads. It is so beautiful. Today I want to share this beautiful tea cup that I received in yesterday's mail, it is from a very special friend of mine. She is just the sweetest person you will ever meet and I was so thrilled when she joined our Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, I am such a fan of her beautiful blog and she is so talented, her beautiful work is so inspiring. Her name is the wonderful Debi Huntsman, she sent me this beautiful tea cup just because of our wonderful friendship, isn't that just the most sweetest thing. She just started collecting Tea Cups, but I have to say that she has the most beautiful tea cups and to have sent this beautiful one to me, oh she really made my day and week. I love, love, love it. It is a Royal Albert and the name is Tranquillity, Royal Albert tea cups are my favorite, I love their beautiful rose teacups. Thank you so much Debi, I will treasure it, just like I treasure our wonderful friendship and I will think of you when I use this beautiful tea cup. A Beautiful Swap

In our Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, we had a wonderful swap, Marie's Tissu Che'rit Le Journal Kit swap, hosted by the lovely Melanie. We sent our partner beautiful supplies to make our own journal and my partner was Melanie. These are the beautiful supplies that she sent me, all of these beautiful things were in a lovely little suit case, which I love. I made her a heart to hold the supplies that I sent her. I will show you my finished journal in the next post. I loved all the beautiful supplies that Melanie sent me, I had such a wonderful time planning and creating my keepsake journal. Our Marie Antoinette Valentine Gala

Last Saturday, we had our Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group Valentine Gala. It was hosted by the lovely owner Rella. We had so much fun, we chatted live and played games. I love these ladies, they make me laugh so hard, there were times I could not see the screen through all my happy tears. Everyone donated a prize to giveaway and we had questions about Marie, these are the beautiful prizes that I won. The first prize that I won was from the lovely Debi, it is this beautiful tea cup, oh it is so pretty and then she sent me all these lovely things, she packaged them in this beautiful draw string bag which is so beautiful, I love the vintage lace. She sent me these beautiful pink gloves, how did she know I collect vintage gloves? This is my first pink pair and all these beautiful trims, lace and flowers and vintage jewelry. She is just the sweetest and most talented person. It has been such a delight to met her and get to know her. She is such a special friend. Thank you so much Debi, I will think of you every time I use your beautiful cup and I will treasure all the beautiful things you sent me.

The other beautiful prize that I won was from the lovely Martica, she made this beautiful banner pocket, it is so pretty and I love it. I love the beautiful colors. I have a perfect spot to hang it. I Received Terri's Beautiful Tea Cup

Today I received Terri's beautiful tea cup, she was having a wonderful tea cup giveaway and I was so lucky to have won. The tea cup is so beautiful, the roses are so beautiful and the color is amazing. It is so much more beautiful in person, I love the shape of the tea cup and I can't wait to use it. She is so generous she also sent me this beautiful card that she made, I love her beautiful art, so is so talented. I am going to frame this card it is just so lovely. She also sent me some wonderful die cuts, I can't wait to create with them, some beautiful lace and trims and a beautiful rhinestone pin. She also sent me some lovely tea's, which I am really looking forward to trying, some are new to me and some wonderful chocoate. The cup that I am sharing today is a cup that I have had for a long time, I can't remember where I got it, but I know that I have had it for years. I usually pick pink tea cups with roses, but I really loved this one, it is a beautiful buttery yellow and I love the beautiful flowers on it. A Couple of Valentine's I Made

Tea Cup Tuesday

Hello, and thank you for visiting me today. Today is Tea Cup Tuesday and I want to share with you two cups that I recently purchased at the great Treasure Mart, when I first spotted these cups I lifted them up to see where they were made, there is no name on them, just numbers, the china is such a creamy and soft color china and the cups are so delicate, they both have the same pattern, but one cup is smaller and the cups are shaped differently. I love all the gold on them and I love the handles, they are so delicate, with clovers on them. The bottom of the cups are different too, they have a large lip. If anyone knows anything about these cups I would love for you to share with me. I love the beautiful flowers on them and the gold inside the cups too. Tea Cup Swap, What I sent my Partner Liz

I joined Sharon's Tea cup Swap, and my partner was Liz, she is just the most sweetest person and it was such a pleasure to meet Liz, she does not have a blog, but I am hoping that she gets one soon. In the previous post you can see all the beautiful things she sent me. I was a little intimidated to say the least. So here are pictures of the tea cup and also the things that I made and sent her. She said she loved roses and pink, I had so much fun creating things to send to her. The tea cup is a tea cup that is marked Bavaria and has beautiful roses on it. I also made Liz a lace journal with a tea cup on the front with her name on it. I also made Liz's tea cup a cozy, it is made with vintage laces and doily, I also added vintage millinery flowers and a rhinestone pin to it. I also decorated a shaker of pink sugar with lace and also a vintage rhinestone dress clip. I sent Liz a vintage rose bowl. I made Liz a Valentine shadow box and also a Valentine paper weight. I just heard from Liz, so I know she has received her box and she was very happy, I am so glad Liz. Faith Hope & Cherrytea Tea Cup Swap

I joined Sharon's Faith Hope & Cherrytea Tea Cup Swap and my partner was Liz Lichenstein, it was wonderful to met the lovely Liz. This is the beautiful tea cup that she sent me, I love it, I love how unique the saucer is, I have never seen one like this. The tea cup is made in Germany. I have to say that her package was wrapped so beautifully, it was like Christmas all over again and it was such a treat. Look at all the beautiful things she sent to me, she made this beautiful lace pocket, which has the most beautiful lace on it. She also made me this beautiful mosiac box, it is so pretty, she sent me lace napkins, teacup note cards and a vintage book about entertaining, which I can't wait to read. She also gave me two of the most beautiful tea strainers that I have ever seen. She also sent me this beautiful strawberry pin cushion and beautiful pink sugar and this lovely silver teaspoon. I feel so lucky to have met you Liz. I also did a barter with my friend Dawn, she is part of the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group and lives in England, this is what she sent me, she is such a talented artist, these are her own paintings of Marie, she put them on Canvas and cotton for me, sent me these beautiful papers and also a beautiful bookmark. TEA CUP TUESDAY

Hello and Welcome to my blog today, well it is Tea Cup Tuesday again. I want to thank Terri and Martha for hosting this wonderful event each week. We visited our son at the University of Michigan on Saturday and we went to the wonderful Treasure Mart, I love that place, it was full of wonderful things, lots and lots of beautiful teacups and the prices are fabulous, all under $10.00. So many to pick from, I won't tell you how many I purchased, but these are two of them. They are very simple in color, but the cups have such a beautiful shape and they are embossed. They are both made in Germany, I really have not had time to look into these cups. Please click on the teacup on my sidebar and visit all the other beautiful tea cups today.
