Rose Bertin's Journal Pages that I made

These are the pages for the Rose Bertin's Fabric book swap that I did. It took a lot longer than I thought I would, but I enjoyed it. I have not sewn anything in awhile so I had fun doing these. I hope the girls like them. I used vintage fabric and the cream part of the dress are vintage hankies.

  1. Terri, You have done an incredible job with these journal pages! Your inspiration photos are perfect. Did you print them out onto fabric paper? Today I am going to give that a try. I need to do it for the Queenly Apron swap as well.
I love how you turned the dress sideways, I had thought to do the same as well, but I haven't decided yet. Is there a dress form underneath that shows at the neck?
Your ribbon flowers and embellishments are amazing. Your composition is perfect as well.
I can only hope to come close to doing as beautiful a job as you did!
    Bravo!!!

  2. Terri, No, I did not print out my pictures, a few months ago I had purchased a group of Marie pictures on Etsy so I thought I would just use them. I have done that before and it works well, the only thing I remember was not getting your iron to hot when you transfer. I also did the type you print directly on fabric and I like those better. One reason I turned the dress side ways was I did not have to make two sleeves, which was a lot easier to me. Yes there is a paper dress form under her dress and I have left the bottom of the dress open so that you can lift it and see it. I printed the dress form and glued it to another sheet, so it was thicker. I really enjoyed this challenge, I have not sewn in awhile. Luckily my machine started acting up just as I was finishing, so that's why I backed out of the apron challenge, I need to get it fixed. Thank you so much for all the compliments. It took a lot longer to do that I was planning, but I am happy with the results. Good luck on yours, you are so talented I am sure your pages will be beautiful.
