Hello, I want to thank you for visiting me today, I just received the sweetest birth announcement for our new Grandson!  He was born within 24 hours of my father's passing.  It is our first Grandchild.  We visited him in Seattle for 10 days on January 25th, I forgot how small newborns are!  He is just the sweetest.  In the announcement he is wearing a hat that my husband wore home from the hospital 59 years ago and our son wore it home from the hospital 30 years ago, I made a shadow box when our son was born and kept the hat and sweater in perfect condition.  I also love the blackboard on the announcement.

My Friend Dawn, who lives in England sent me the sweetest bunny, she made it for my Grandson, I have sent it to them and forgot to take photo's, but my daughter in law sent me a photo of him, it is just the sweetest and Nicole loved it!  She put his name on a heart.  I know she will treasure it and that Stephen will love it.  Thank you so much Dawn, she is also going to be a first time Grandma soon!

My Dear Dad 12-22-1932 to 1-7-2014

It was a very hard Holiday Season for me and my family, my father Robert Bright had been sick since October with pneumonia and just could not shake it, in and out of the hospital and re-hab.  He passed away on January 7, 2014.  As you know my Mom passed away last March very suddenly and it was so hard for him without her.  My sister and I tried and tried to keep him going, but the pneumonia was just too hard.  He had just celebrated his 81st birthday.  He was a strong person and I have never met anyone like him.  When he was 5 years old he was hit by a car, they said he would not live at first and was in a coma for 30 days.  His father passed away when my father was 10 and he did not have a very good childhood, he always said I felt alone in life until I met your Mom, she was everything to him and it was so hard for him once she passed away, they were married 58 years.  We tried to fill the void, but I could see how hard it was for him.  They are together once again.  I miss him so much, he was a great father and grandfather.

Life is going to be so hard without him, he was one of a kind and I enjoyed all the talks I had with him.  Also my Daughter in law was due to have her baby on January 20th.  She went into labor the evening of my father's passing and within 24 hours of his passing our first Grandchild was born, it was such a low and high 24 hours.  They named him Stephen Robert Gordon, his middle name after my father, he would have been so proud and honored.  Here is a photo of him, he is such a beautiful baby.  We are so thrilled, he was 8 lbs, 2 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long, and just perfect.  Life goes on.  Thank you for visiting me today, I will share more photo's of our grandson soon.

I am going to be a Grandma!

First I want to say thank you to everyone who commented on my last post, you will never know how much it meant to me.  It has been a very hard 7 months since my Mom's passing, my Dad is not doing  well and my sister and I have been doing everything to help him stay in his home.  His health is not that good, but we have been getting through each and every day.  Mother's day was really hard for me as it was exactly two months to the day of my Mother's passing.  Well, my son and daughter in law shared the most wonderful news with me on that day!  I was going to be a Grandma!  She was only one month pregnant so I could not share the news, but it was wonderful news.  When I found out they were going for their ultra sound and would be finding out the sex, I made a blue bow tie and a pink hair bow and sent them to them so when they were going to announce it they could use one or the other.  This will be our first grandchild and we just found out that they are having a little boy!  My Mom's favorite, she loved boys, she would have been so happy!  Here is the first photo of my Grandson!  he is supposed to arrive around January 20th, 2014.  We are so happy and excited for Stephen and Nicole!  Life really does goes on! Wishing you a wonderful Day!  Hugs, Terri

My Beautiful Mom 11-30-1934 to 3-12-2013

I have been trying to write this post for the last few weeks, but it has been too difficult.  My beautiful Mom passed away on March 12th. Her name was Shirley Bright, it was unexpected and very quick, so it has been very hard.  I thought I would share her life with you.  She was a wonderful Mother, and a wonderful Grandmother.  I will miss her every day for the rest of my life.
She was the oldest child, when she was 4 years old, her father died, her sister was 2 and her Mom was pregnant for her third daughter, her father was only 28 years old when he died.

This is her High School photo, I loved her hair, she was named after Shirley Temple.
She was such a beautiful Mom, her children and her grandchildren were everything to her.  She stayed home with us when I was young and I remember how much I loved to come home from school knowing she was waiting for us
 Our Wedding Day.
My Mom with Stephen my first son, she always wanted boys, she had two daughters, so she was thrilled to get three grandsons and two granddaughters.  She also was thrilled to get two great grandchildren born 11 days apart four years ago.
