Tomorrow, my husband and I are leaving on vacation, we are first flying to see our oldest son and his wife in the Seattle area. They just purchased a new home in Woodinville and moved in today. We will stay in the Seattle area for five days and then all four of us are flying to Alaska. My husband and I are very excited, it has been a dream trip and we are looking forward to all the beautiful sites to see and spending some wonderful time with our son and his new wife, whom we just love. I will be back on July 12th. I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th weekend, we are planning on seeing the fireworks in Seattle, which are supposed to be wonderful. Thank you for visiting my blog. BLOGGERETTE SORORITY

Better late than never, what a wonderful idea, thank you so much Karen. This is the idea of Karen at Some Days Are Diamonds. You can click on the sidebar button and go see everyone who is joining and all their beautiful creations. I had fun making mine and I plan on putting mine on an easel. Once we made our creation with the image, we had to take a picture of ourselves. I used an artist canvas and layered lots of vintage lace and sewed them together. Then I add lots of vintage flowers and jewels. Thank you for visiting my blog. Have a wonderful weekend.

WEDDING BLOG PARTY 2010

I decided to join Stephanie for her Wedding Blog Party. I have always loved anything to do with weddings. About 10 years ago I started collecting wedding cake toppers, it made me feel so bad that families would not cherish these vintage cake toppers. I also made the shelves that my cake toppers are on. I made a large shadow box to put things from my wedding in. I love to make shadow boxes for special couples. I made one for my husband and I, it has our wedding invitation and a large G for Gordon. I also made one for my son who was married last July. My husband and I just celebrated our 32nd Wedding Anniversary, and we renewed our vows, you can read about it here: http://designsbyterrigordon.blogspot.com/2010/06/june-10th.html. Thank you so much for visiting my blog, please click on the button to go to all the other blogs that are joining Stephanie for this wonderful party. I really enjoyed this. Thank you Stephanie.

The other Marie doll is for a Paper Doll Swap with the group, this one is for Denise. I really enjoyed making these, I hope the ladies love them. Thanks for visiting and have a great day. Hugs, Terri

MY VACATION FINDS FROM WISCONSIN

These are some of the items I found while Antique hunting in Wisconsin, it was wonderful, where ever we went, we were finding Antique Malls and stores. I love these two composition doll heads and the owner gave me a great price if I purchased both of them. I also love the china half dolls, they look like Marie Antoinette. I love the antiqued german doll, she was a great price and is 26 inches tall. The next picture I thought I was buying a bag of cloth and lace and it turned out to be a lovely night gown and it was 75% off. I love the vintage pincushion with roses on it and the lovely pearl buttons. I found lots of beautiful crocheted lace, bags of it at 50% off, this is only half of what I bought. For years I have wanted a vintage velvet jewelry box, I have hunted high and low for one, checking Ebay and Etsy all the time and this one was 50% off, it has hand painted flowers inside. The next item is a pincushion and you can hang your scissors on it, love the colors. I also found a bunch of vintage wood cigar boxes and a few vintage glass bottles. The last item is a Pebbles doll. I had this same doll when I was a little girl. My mom is not much of a saver and I don't know what ever happened to her. This one is in really great shape, and it looks like no one put her in the bath tub, her hair is in great shape. The great thing about Wisconsin was a lot of places had wonderful sales, it was really fun. I wish we had more antique malls and stores where I live. Well thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. Hugs, Terri
