FUN PINCUSHIONS

For the Swap
For Marti

For Lorraine

For Debi

We are having a wonderful swap at the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, hosted by Lorraine,  it is her first time hosting in the group and she has come up with this wonderful swap.  You make pincushions with salt dips, we have three partners.  I was a little nervous making my first one, but then I was hooked and could not stop making them, they are so much fun. I also had some little tea cups, and I had these vintage victorian match holders, I also have some other things I want to make pincushions with.   Thank you Lorraine for coming up with this wonderful swap and teaching us how to make these.   I hope you are having a wonderful week and thanks for visiting me today.  Hugs, Terri

Oh, these are wonderful! So beautiful. Do you glue in the cushions?

OK, how do I learn to make these?!? They are beautiful! What do you use as a filler?

Hi Ladies, No glue at all, if the sides of the item curve in or straight you just make the cloth tight. Start with a circle of fabric, you will have to adjust for each container, sew a running stitch around the edge and gather, stuff with fiber fill, make it tight, then I covered my ball with lace and gathered that. You make them a little larger so that they are tight and then you don't have to glue them in. I did not want to use glue because in the future you might want to take the pincushions out. These things are addicting, you will be going around your house looking for little containers to make pincushions with and it is hard to stop, have fun and I would love to see what you create. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Terri

Hello Terri,
I hope you are well and having a good summer : )
This swap of Lorianne's looks fabulous! What a great idea. I have made pin cushions of tea cups before, but never the other items. They look amazing! You always delight and amaze me with your beautiful creations.
Hugs,
Terri
