My Dear Dad 12-22-1932 to 1-7-2014

It was a very hard Holiday Season for me and my family, my father Robert Bright had been sick since October with pneumonia and just could not shake it, in and out of the hospital and re-hab.  He passed away on January 7, 2014.  As you know my Mom passed away last March very suddenly and it was so hard for him without her.  My sister and I tried and tried to keep him going, but the pneumonia was just too hard.  He had just celebrated his 81st birthday.  He was a strong person and I have never met anyone like him.  When he was 5 years old he was hit by a car, they said he would not live at first and was in a coma for 30 days.  His father passed away when my father was 10 and he did not have a very good childhood, he always said I felt alone in life until I met your Mom, she was everything to him and it was so hard for him once she passed away, they were married 58 years.  We tried to fill the void, but I could see how hard it was for him.  They are together once again.  I miss him so much, he was a great father and grandfather.

My Mom and Dad

Life is going to be so hard without him, he was one of a kind and I enjoyed all the talks I had with him.  Also my Daughter in law was due to have her baby on January 20th.  She went into labor the evening of my father's passing and within 24 hours of his passing our first Grandchild was born, it was such a low and high 24 hours.  They named him Stephen Robert Gordon, his middle name after my father, he would have been so proud and honored.  Here is a photo of him, he is such a beautiful baby.  We are so thrilled, he was 8 lbs, 2 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long, and just perfect.  Life goes on.  Thank you for visiting me today, I will share more photo's of our grandson soon.

I stumbled upon your blog through a pin on Pinterest and wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss. It's really hard to loose a parent, I lost my dad six years ago and miss him sooo much. My sympathy to you and your family.

He was a very handsome man, and from what I have read here, a very strong man with a gentle soul.. Your mom and dad made such a lovely couple.
When one life passes, another enters.. Your beautiful grandchild.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing, I understand too well what you are going through, as I lost my sister in May, and my Mom just before Christmas. Your grandson is beautiful. May his birth bring comfort you and your family.

Oh Terri, you have my Sympathy. A beautiful post. You have some lovely photos to treasure. Your parents were a nice looking couple.
My father passed in July and it has been hard without him. Mom is in assisted living and it's hard for her to be alone. They were married 67 years and never apart.
And Congratulations on the new little grandson. You will truly enjoy many years of fun with the excitement grandchildren bring.
Best Wishes
